Soichi and I were both looking forward to visiting Frankie Melbourne Espresso, a little piece of Melbourne in the heart of Shimokitazawa, a favourite downtown area of ours in Tokyo. A very quick walk from the South Exit of the station is where we found Frankie.

Frankie’s exterior
We were happily greeted by a friendly Japanese barista, who made us two delicious cups of flat white coffees. Treats loved by Aussies are a part of the menu at Frankie, which include banana bread, lamington cakes, hedgehog slices and focaccia’s.
The interior of the cafe is very cozy and seats only a few people, but definitely gives off the feel of a little cafe in Melbourne’s iconic laneways.

Hanging jar lights inside the cafe

Bon Soy Milk and KeepCups are available at Frankie!
We will definitely be visiting again soon, as there are more delicious drinks and sweets we are looking forward to trying!
