Winter is on it’s way to Melbourne, so there’s no better excuse than to enjoy keeping warm inside a cozy cafe!
That is what we both did this weekend, as we ventured to Saint James Cafe, a unique and inviting space on Malvern Road, close to Tooronga Station on the Glen Waverley train line. Access to Saint James is easy walking distance from Tooronga train station, or you can take tram 72 (Tooronga Road stop 47) or bus 624.
We were greeted with a lovely variety of plants hanging from the ceilings and adorning the window seating corners. Staff were happy to greet us and we seated at a two-seater opposite the coffee machine and could watch the barista pump out the delicious coffees 🙂
I ordered a delicious two-stack of Strawberries and Cream Pikelets, which were served with vanilla creme fraiche, meringue gems, fresh strawberries and chocolate and coffee soil. I loved how soft they were and it wasn’t too sweet for my taste. The edible flowers and micro herbs on top are always a nice touch to any dish. Loved them!

Soichi, along with a long black coffee, decided to order the Saint Benedict, which was pulled Berkshire pork shoulder, served with fresh apple sauce, beurre noisette hollandaise on toasted sourdough.
We really enjoyed our first time visit to the cafe and hope to come again soon.
Enjoy Saint James lovely photographs on Instagram and website!
