We all like to feel warm and snug when winter is around and thankfully, a cosy atmosphere found at Mr. Brownstone offered just that during our visit to the tucked away rail-side cafe. Located on Welfare Parade, opposite Ashburton Railway station, we found Mr. Brownstone to be homely and comfortable upon entering; the two of us huddled the corner table and had friendly greetings from the staff.

Not the largest of cafes, Mr. Brownstone utilises the space of their cafe well. Intimate seating for two on the inside, as well as curb-side seating for sunny days; a take-away window is available for those wanting their coffee or treats on the go. As for the coffee! We both throughly enjoyed our regular drinks – my soy flat white was especially creamy, which is always a treat for me!
If you are planning to visit Mr. Brownstone, one thing we noted upon entering the cafe is they offer free wifi, which is a bonus if you want to bring your laptop for some work/writing (which is what we both like to do) 🙂
Also, a toilet is available out the back of the cafe, if you ask staff, they will show you through the door leading out from their kitchen area.
